    A/C compressor ID

Cleaning garage came across a A/C compressor that had a note attached "1955 bel air" don't know where I obtained this from but was wondering if any of you number gurus could decode them for me. On the side is attached a small metal tag with 54 NC 3558 MODEL 6550133. On the cast iron base of the compressor are the numbers 6555302 below this R 11 then below that H 20 2. Any help? Thanks ahead of time for all responses.

6550133 is in the 63 AIM for option C60. I have to look more at the 54 NC 3558. The compressor on my July car is 71 NC 6731 and the date is D 19 3. The same compressor was used on the 63 Cadillac. Saying that you probably have a compressor from August 20, 1962. I believe the first production 63 C60 cars started in March of 63. I'm sure there were others prior to that but that would be hard to prove.

My thoughts, the compressor you have was destined for a 63 GM car that has AC, but given the 6 month rule, a bit too early for a Corvette.
But hey, If you have a 63 Corvette with AC and need a compressor, this is a fit, just the date is off.
