Cleaning garage came across a A/C compressor that had a note attached "1955 bel air" don't know where I obtained this from but was wondering if any of you number gurus could decode them for me. On the side is attached a small metal tag with 54 NC 3558 MODEL 6550133. On the cast iron base of the compressor are the numbers 6555302 below this R 11 then below that H 20 2. Any help? Thanks ahead of time for all responses.

My thoughts, the compressor you have was destined for a 63 GM car that has AC, but given the 6 month rule, a bit too early for a Corvette.
But hey, If you have a 63 Corvette with AC and need a compressor, this is a fit, just the date is off.Last edited by Harry S.; November 4, 2012, 07:33 PM.
