1960 convertible top rear bow filler extension

Hello everybody

I am new to the NCRS forum.

At the moment, I am having a new soft top installed on my 1960 Corvette.

The only question I and the installer has is, where do you have to install the rear bow filler extensions? (see picture).

I would be very glad for some pictures of these rear bow filler extensions correctly installed.

Rudy, Welcome!!!! Your '60 is beautiful.

I don't have a photo handy, but I'll try to explain.

When the top is up, it's made to seal the area between the top edge of the door and the decklid. It covers the "Hardtop Receiver", the small stainless trim between the door and decklid. If the top is off of the car it may be easier to see how it fits.

It's attached to the bottom edge of the rear bow with 2 screws, and (I think) at the bottom edge of the bow(where the hide-em strip is), again with 2 screws. IIRC I think all screws are small sheet metal types. You should be able to see the screw holes in the bows if you look closely at the bottom of each one.

I can take a pic tomorrow of this area if no one posts a pic tonight.

p.s. Is the installer familiar with these tops and windshield frames? If not, be sure to tell the installer NOT to make the top too tight. It can damage the windshield post tabs, and make the frame pull up and out of the windshield glass.

It is difficult to take photos of this area and make out details for installation, but I tried on my 1960 top. The photo with the slot head screw shows one of the attachment points of the filler extension.
