    C1 park brake adjustment

This is for a 60 with posi. The ST-12 says to jack up the back end, pull out the park brake lever one notch and adjust until light drag is felt when the rear wheels are rotated then adjust each side to equalize.

how do you do this with a posi? Since both wheels turn, not sure how to tell the drag on one side.

    Thanks,
    Don

    Re: C1 park brake adjustment

Good question.........I'm thinking 3 possible methods.

1- After one side is adjusted, remove that side's brake drum. Then adjust the other side. Problem is the adjuster has to be loosened to get it off which will ruin your normal brake adjustment.

2- After one side is adjusted, remove it's cable L bracket from the main arm pivot bolt. Then adjust the other side. But may be a bear to reconnect the L bracket after adjustment.

3- After one side is adjusted, count or measure threads to the locknut at the L bracket and remove the cable from the L bracket. Adjust the other side then reconnect the cable to the L bracket to the previously measured length.

    I think I like #3 the best.....

Just follow the ST-12 instructions, as you are doing it you will come to understand and be able to feel the drag on each side. Posi has no real effect on this, you can still feel if one side is draging more with a posi by turning each wheel seperately
