    62 fresh air hose reproduction

Vendors are advertising "will pass NCRS" for this new reproduction. Is this true?

Don't believe it. I have purchased different hoses from different vendors and none of them pass Flight judging without at least 1 point deduct. The current repros do not look like the original hoses, close.

Re: 62 fresh air hose reproduction

Who currently sells the most accurate or closest hose for a 62?

Mine after 3 years is separating in areas.

      Thanks

I would not be surprised if many are reselling the Gates hose you can buy at your local auto parts store. We bought a Gates a few years ago that looked just like the inaccurate repros, but it was cheaper.

I am not aware of anyone reproing it. Should look like this original.

They probably aren't, but they are selling it.

As noted, I suspect it is repurposed Gates hose.

It is being reproduced. I just ordered one yesterday from Corvette America for my 61. Beat mine up after changing out my 9 year old battery. I should have it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it looks. MIne is a driver.

I have this hose on the fresh air side of my 62 fuelie. Judge at the NE Regional said it is too shiny.

I disagree that it should look like that. It can look like that. If you look at the 61-62 JG, it indicates that three styles were likely used on original cars. Yours is only one of those.

Well, eBay has GATES 23864 Fresh Air Duct Hose ranging in price from $12.11 to $84.12. Wow that's some spread.

My Corvette Central one got a deduct at the Bowling Green regional for being to shiny. The judges were OK with the spiral wire spacing.

Check your local auto parts store for pricing.
Obviously it won't be at the AutoZone or Advance Auto.

Thanks for all of the info. Just seems like it should be an easy item to repop correctly.

Anyone familiar with this one from Dr. Rebuild?

If you get one for Doc Rebuild, please post back what the finish looks like. As I posted earlier, the judges at the Bowling Green regional said the material and wire loop spacing was OK, but the finish was to shiny.

                            Thanks,
