Re-assembling the rear suspension on my 72 coupe. Question is about best way to shim the trailing arms. I kept the original shims in order when I disassembled - likely the factory setup. Should I go back with the same setup, or is there a better way to get as close as possible without an alignment machine?

What you are doing is the best way to go. However, you should still get a four wheel alignment performed after the car is back on the road.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Trailing arm shims
Go back the same way you took them off. Did mine last winter, went back as they came off and when I took it for alignment all the guy had to do was make sure everything was tight.Kurt Geis
