It is my understanding that all the production master cylinder caps were painted black. What is the finish on the clips???

Re: 66 Master Cylinder Cap Clips Finish
Greg - According to the 1966 NCRS TIM&JG the base, non power master cylinder cap may be painted semi-gloss black or cadmium dichromate plated; while the optional power brake master cylinder is painted semi-gloss black but there does not appear to be any guidance as to the finish of the cover. So, what master cylinder cover are you looking for information about?
BTW, is that a picture of the new power antenna fishing rod pole??????????????

Re: 66 Master Cylinder Cap Clips Finish
Pictured below is my original M/Cyl. from my 1966 Corvette (Feb. 1966) that I bought in 1979. I have no reason to believe that it is not original. The casting number is "2225032" with a date code of "325" (325th day of 1965 or November 21, 1965, I assume). The cap and clips have (or had) a yellow cadmium plating.

Re: 66 Master Cylinder Cap Clips Finish
The paint fizzled quickly and most was gone within a year of new. Plus, when owners back then discovered that there was something shiny and pretty under the black, they removed what ever black remained.- Top
