    Early 56 how to check vacuum

    I have an early 56 distributor without a vacuum advance. where do i hook up to Check changes in Vacuum for timing or carburation?

    Bryan,
    I'm not famaliar with carburetted 56 Corvette but I would suspect there is a vacuum port somewhere on the intake manifold or possibly on the carb base.

      the base late of the rear carb, if its the original 2362S, has a plug that can be removed and used as a vac source. mike

        thanks guys...yes carbs are original. i saw the large theaded fitment in the rear...i wll construct a fitting for the opening to measure from there ...Bryan

          Bryan -

          Order Paragon's #755 vacuum fitting - it screws into the hole currently occupied by the hex plug in the rear of the base of the rear carburetor, and it's in two pieces so you don't have to raise the carburetor to get swing clearance to install it; just install the hex part of the fitting first, then screw the separate hose nipple into the fitting.
