Which Holley accelerator pump cover for a LIST 2818 ?

Here's two of the square designs. I've read that they went to countersunk (clutch) screws for clearance reasons (to manifold), in some applications. There's a third "banjo" [ie. non-square] type with same Phillips head screw/washers as shown on right. Both screw style pump covers have the same cast #34R-2178.

My tripower LIST 4055-1 dated 981 has the countersunk square type cover. A service LIST 2818-1 I have (with 4-digit date code) has the banjo style.

So what should an early '64 LIST 2818, dated 3A4 have ?

P.S. These covers and screw types are easily visible. Do mechanical judges check this ? (Not mentioned in '65 TIM&JG).

It doesn't answer your question Wayne, and many will say "who cares?"
But my 1970 LT1 came with the clutch head counter sunk screws shown on left of your photo. I had to buy one of those screwdrivers, which I still have, to take it off.

      Wayne,

I know personally of a very original 1965,(November 1964 built) that has it's original carburetor and the accelerator pump is like the picture on the left with the countersunk special screws.

my 64 vin 14707 365 hp holley( 4150/2818 dated march of 64) has countersunk clutch head fastners. i've owned the old 365-c-60 since 1970 and believe the carb to be the original.mike

Member rich Mauser sent me a good pic of a "banjo" type pump cover. Seems these were on service Holley's in the 4-digit assembly date era.

            Wayne,

I don't remember which design came first but I did find a picture of the pump cover and screws in the 66 overhaul manual. The picture used is probably the same one used in the 64 overhaul manual.

The cover and screws appear to be the same as the cover/screws on the right in your first picture. Square cover with phillips screws with L/washers.
