1954 radio installation -- support bracket is too long?

I'm installing my newly acquired Wonderbar radio this AM. I attempted to use the repro support bracket I got from Zip Products -- their part # I-1097 and labeled as "53-57 Radio Mount Bracket." Well it looks to be at the wrong angle and about 2 inches too long. See attached picture. Is the bracket wrong, is the support stud on my radio somehow in the wrong place, or is it something else?

    Thanks,

    Pete

    Hi Pete,
I hope this is of some help.
    Enjoy your new extensions. Gary

I bought a re-pop for my 57 and it fit perfectly. One of the few aftermarket things I can say that actually bolted in without rework. I bought from Corvette Central.

The longer edge of the longer leg of my repro bracket measures 6 inches. If Gary or someone else could measure a bracket that actually fits, that would tell me for sure if this one is wrong.

        Thanks,
        Pete

Sorry Pete, I can't get to mine right now. But I'm sure someone will have the measurement you are looking for.

Thanks, Gary, and thanks for the photo you posted. From the photo, it looks like yours is shorter. With regard to Dan's reply, I had bought a repro for my '57, too, some time ago, and I believe it fit fine (I have since removed the radio as it was originally a no-radio car). Perhaps there is a difference in the location of the support stud on the 6 volt radios.

For the record, Gary Hiltunen kind enough to provide the attached photo of the radio support brace from his '54. The long side is 4-3/4" -- a full 1-1/4" shorter than the repro brace that was supposed to fit 53-57.
