    Late '57 AC fuel filter?

Is it possible that a very, very late built 57 would have a AC fuel filter that is not the "dome" type? Has anyone documented it on a original car as opposed to restored car? Judging manual seems to only indicate the domed type. Thanks.

    John,
I have judged at regional and national, 53-55 & 56-57. My experience is, from very early 57's, to ones with serial numbers 6XXX. I have never observed any filter other than a dome type, on a 57.
I have observed early 58's with dome filters, both single a dual WCFB's. IMHO the major change in filtering for the WCFB carbs, came about in 59. The base engine had the filter built into the top of the carb.
