I am not shifting the topic of this thread by any means, but in addition to seeing the glue documented on the yellow car's hood - it also shows me how little or NO overspray is seen on the underside of the stinger....I just shot the underside of my hood this past weekend to give a little overspray....I hope I get credit for it.....lol.....

Tony -- this may not be the hood w/strip, but here's a shot from April 1968 of my very first car ('65 VIN 04835 with 32K miles on the clock). Hard to see any evidence of glue near the rubber. Page 27 of the '65 TIM&JG says "most [door jamb] weatherstripping is securred with a yellow/brown adhesive applied with a brush. The use of adhesive may appear excessive in application"

A lot of wiggle room there .

Should mention that I recently learned that it's probably a A-body car, due to your pointing out of the side flag location, in case that would have made any difference to the w/strip glue.
