In the current NCRS TGJM the verbage regarding the oil drain plugs for the base 300, 350 and 365 HP engines states that a white nylon gasket is used between the drain plug and the oil pan. The desciption of the L78 drain plug mentions nothing about a gasket of any type.
Is the same white nylon gasket, a different type of gasket or nothing at all used between the drain plug and the pan? if there is a gasket I would assume it would be painted engine color as it would have been installed? prior to the engine being painted at Tonowanda... correct?
Thanks,
James West
