    water pump needed

I have a 67 L79 and need a replacement water pump suggestion. I have judged my car and received a national top flight with a replacement water pump but don't recall where it came from.

Any suggestions on what I should purchase?

    Thanks,

    Lawrence

Try John Pirkle... He use to cary WPs but I don't see them advertised in his add. He's in the Driveline under Master City Corvette 706-855-1177

I have tried him in the past he does not have any 67 L-79 cores left.

I was hoping for a suggestion from NAPA or the like.

If you're looking for a properly dated and 100% as-originally-configured waterpump, Bill Mock is probably the guy to contact.

If you are just after a pump using the original 3859326 casting, you might very well be able to get that from a local auto parts store in their REBUILT product line. The 3859326 is a very common casting and was probably used for a lot of rebuilt waterpumps. However, the pump will likely have a 3/4" NPT top fitting instead of the 1/2" NPT used for 1967 L-79. No problem. Install a bushing, carefully fill and "dress" the interface between the bushing and the pump casting and I don't think anyone will know after the pump is painted to match the engine paint.

Another choice is ChevyCool. Ron and his work are excellent. Just had one done. He is in the Driveline 480 720-8000

I believe that the water pumps have casting dates starting in late 1965.
