1960 Door Panels
Purchased the Dash, Carpet and sheet metal from Al Knox enteriors 20 years ago. Everything was stored and is in perfect condition. On looking over the door panels, one door backing is in good shape, but the other door backing is not so good. The cardboard(?) backing is soft. I checked the website for Al Knox and couldn't find just the backing or the the carpeting for the door...I need one door backing(cardboard?) and the bottom carpet on both of the doors replaced...Otherwise pretty good. Can anyone give me advice as to what to do? I also emailed Al Knox and am waiting for a reply...thanks

Looking on the Al Knock site it looks like you need the basic door panels. They have the vinyl and carpet installed on the backing but don't have any of the metal parts which you would transfer from your old panels.

You cannot just purchase the cardboard backing as it comes with the vinyl glued into place. Al Knoch may have enough carpet remnants to make a couple of door pieces, but it is my understanding that he had to switch carpet suppliers and may not have it in stock yet.
What is wrong with the door panel carpet pieces that you purchased 20 years ago?Comment
