    54 kickdown rod

    Is there supposed to be small springs at each end of the rod? Thanks folks!

      Hello Guy,
      I pulled a few pages out of the 1929-57 parts book for you to look at. It appears there MAY be anti rattle springs but I cannot confirms since most of my assembly was gone from the car when I got it....

          I dont think you could get small ones in there.....the space is too tight
          I put a flat washer on the inside and outside of the rod - then the cotter pin......

              Agree with Chris. There are no "anit-rattle" springs unless there is room for it to rattle. The shifter linkage has such springs in two places though.
