I've been spending time verifying and authenticating my '67 427/435. The car is unrestored and so far seems to be very correct. One question I have is regarding the RPO Code for the hardtop. My trim tag has the 450BR Trim. According to the Authentication Library Volume 1 this means the car had white/blue vinyl interior with power windows (A31) and auxiliary hardtop (C07). The car has a vinyl hardtop which was RPO C08. For Trim Tag purpose was C07 and C08 used synonymous? The Authentication Library Volume 1 does not address RPOC08.

C-08 was the RPO for a vinyl covering for the hardtop. A car could have both RPO C-07 and C-08.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 RPO Codes for Hardto
Here's my take on this; the ECL code suffixes on the trim tag were to identify body components that differed from the base car. In the case of C07 with C08, the BR suffix would (still) indicate that the body line would use the rear deck lid assembly with the 4 holes to attach the hardtop, whether vinyl covered or not.
But I'm puzzled by the other permutations; C07 instead of standard convertible top (same price ?); was C08 instead of soft top a possibility, and at what price adder ? These would require the deck lid without the two cut-outs for the rear bow latches. How would this even show on the build sheet ?- Top

The Body Shop "run sheet" (printout of that particular 500-unit schedule) would show "C05" for a unit with a convertible top, which took a deck lid with the two rear bow latch holes. If it also had a hardtop, it would also show "C07", which told them to also add the four hardtop attaching holes. If it was a hardtop-only car, the run sheet would only show "C07", and they would add only the four hardtop attaching holes. The Body Shop didn't care about C08 (vinyl covering), but the Paint and Trim Shops did, so they knew what kind of hardtop to subassemble.
C08 showed on the tank sticker in the "Comfort and Convenience" section (with C07 showing in the upper section next to "Aux Top"), and I'd expect it to show on the window sticker as well, with a $52.70 price adder, whether the car had a soft top or not.- Top
