    1969 Body Mount

I have a 1969 convertible that I will be starting a frame off restoration this winter. Presently I am starting to build the body frame. I plan to make the frame out of steel tubing. I plan to support the body at each body mount with 1 inch square tubing. (I also intend to install horizional pieces of tubing to catch both the front and end of the body) I plan to weld a nut to the bottom of a washer and attach to the 1 inch tubing. Since I do not want to remove any of the body mounting bolts at this time, I am asking if anyone can tell me the bolt size and thread for the bolts. Any other comments or tips other may have that would be helpful would be appreciated.
    Thanks for any help,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
Starting a off frame.... GREAT fun ahead for you!
I believe the body mount bolts are 7/16"x14.
    Regards
    Alan

I forgot to mention one thing.... when I built my body dolly for my 71 I realized the frame dimension drawing in the Chassis Service Manual contains the information needed to determine how high the dolly's body mount points need to be relative to each other.
The #2 and #3 mounts are level and can be called 0". The #1 mount needs to be 1 1/8" taller than the #2/3 mounts, while the #4 mount needs to be 8 1/4" taller than the #2/3 mounts.
    Maybe this helps you?

      Alan,
Thanks for the response. I have used the Chassis Service Manual to obtain dimensions for the dolly.
