Post your C1 Lug Nut head markings

I know there were lots and lots of suppliers for lug nuts to GM. I also know they are not judged. But I'm interested anyway

I'm interested in which ones were in use on C1s. (53-62) I've been researching in the archives on old posts and most of the markings I've found are mentioned on C2s, but few have been mentioned on C1s. I'll post the ones I know about and what years people reported them (based on owner posts). if you think you have original lug nuts, please post the head marks you have on your C1 and your year! Pictures are good too

    complete 360 degree groove (1957,1961)
3 diamonds on the flats (1961)
3 triangles at the corners pointing in(1962)
3 triangles at the corners pointing out (?)
RBW with R on opposite side (1966,67)
Waffle pattern (at least 3 styles) (1967)

Re: Post your C1 Lug Nut head markings

I recently bought some original lugnuts from the 60's from a corvair guy and a few were in good enough shape to plainly see they were gold cad. Does this sound right?
Anyone old enough to remember this back in the 60's or from your experience taking a car apart?

    The headmarks I got were:

    *complete 360 degree groove
    *3 diamonds on the corners
*3 triangles at the corners pointing in
*RBW with "R" on opposite side
*Waffle pattern (couple 2 or 3 patterns)
    *two opposing curved lines
    *four curved lines around perimeter
*6 curved lines at corners around perimeter
*a little rectangle at one corner (I had one of these on my car)

    Sound familiar?
I'll post pics once they are cleaned up.

      Ian,

Attached are pictures of the four styles of lug nuts on my '54, number 814. Altogether my car has 3 with the R-T markings, 1 with large diamonds, 1 with small diamonds, and 15 with the 360 degree groove. The car still has a lot of its original parts and relatively low mileage (67K), which might indicate that the 360 degree groove was its original equipment.

        Hi Ian,
I am attaching a few pictures of the lugnuts on my 57 bowtie car. I believe these to be original.I also think that there were only two sets of tires on the car when I purchased it with about 46000 + miles. Three types of nuts used were 3 diamonds, 3 triangles or 360 degree grove.Only one wheel had all the same style the left front with 5 -360degree grove nuts.

Very cool. I think you an clearly see those were gold cad too. Some of the ones I bought also still show their gold cad plating also. Anyone else want to share? IMO this is cool info you can't find elsewhere...

            Ian,
the three triangles in gold look like what many 63s had.
I've never seen any of the RBW or waffle styles in gold.
