    1960 022 master cylinder

    On the 022 master cylinder with the large 022 numerals what does the stamped R3 just to the right of the 1"Dia cast letters represent? And are the cast in numbers and letters to the left dates?

      R or D are the casting plants and the number is the mold.

          There is a service replacement on my 60 now I have found an 022 master cylinder which I am going to have resleeved and I am going to install in its place eventually. It is a R3 example does it matter which one is used D or R? I cant decipher the numbers to the left which I am guessing are dates.
