    '67 seat belt retractor boot/cover

I would appreciate the posting of some pictures of the front, back and sides of the seat belt retractor boot cover for an early '67. I have been told that there are several different styles. Some short, some long, some with a hole in the back and some without a hole in the back.
When I had my seat belts restored by Snake Oyl 2 years ago I sent my original boots to them with my seat belts. I didn't pay close attention to what the boots looked like becaiuse they were very beat up and I requested that they provide me with new ones. When I got the seat belts back they had new retractor boots but my old boots were not returned. I didn't care much since they were in such bad shape. Now that I am installing the seat belts in the car I am much wiser and have learned that you don't always get exactly what you ask for. The new boots Snake Oyl provided are short but have a hole in the back which I think may not be correct for an early 67. Any assisstance would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Neal

Neal - The seat belt retractor covers on our Sept 66 built 67 (VIN 1476) with saddle seat belts dated 35 E 66 are relatively short and have a smooth back with no hole for the large rivet head. I will try and get you some photos. Pete

      Pete,
That is what I thought it would look like. Pictures would be most appreciated.
To my knowledge none of the repops from the ususal supply sources are correct. But someone may have had different results. Any ideas where I might locate corrrect ones?
      Best regards

                Thanks for the suggestion.
I know Charlie, he restored my vent window assemblies and did a great job.

                  Neal,

I believe that the seat belt pocket for early '67 cars is the same as for late '66 cars. And based on my research there is no repro that is accurate. Used originals are your only option.

Re: '67 seat belt retractor boot/cover

                        Neal,

My Jan. '67 seat belt retractor covers look the same as Don's in post #4, except black.

One of mine was damaged, part of the boot had broken or torn away. When I had my belts cleaned and buckles restored, they replaced the covers (I also had my original covers returned). The replacements look the same as the originals on the the upper section that is visible when installed, with a raised dome (no hole) as shown in Don's picture. The lower section was a little different. The originals have no slot cut into the lower section, while the replacements do have a slot, and the end of the seat belt assembly that attaches to the body (the metal yellow-cad plated bar) is inserted through the slot in the lower/rear part of the seat belt cover.

                          Scott,

The slot on repros and on NOS GM boots/covers is an obvious difference from production originals.
