As noted by Steve Barrett in another post the NCRS Cincinnati Chapter is organizing a road tour from Cinci. to Wilmington, Ohio to watch some land speed record racing.
The event runs this Saturday and Sunday Sept. 29 & 30th at Wilmington Air Park at Wilmington.
The event is a standing start mile (about 5280 feet) and is run on a 9000 foot long runway. So basically it is a 1 mile drag race with speed not time determining the winner. Vehicles are run one at a time, in competitition with the clock.
One of the Forum contributors Dave Gray, with the help of Mike McCagh, has run here and might be back to crack the 200 MPH barrier.
In addition this weekend will be having a special motorcycle competition.
Check thier website http://www.ecta-lsr.com/ for more details.
See Steve Barretts posting for more information and road tour starting location.
