Has anyone run across an early 67 jack that had only the month "A" stamped into it without the year "7" ? If so, was there a point deduction during judging or is this considered 1 of those things that could happen on the line?

Re: 67 jack dating
I have had lots of dated jacks and am always looking at them at shows and swap meets. I never saw one without both characters on a dated jack. I have seen some "light' stampings though. But that does not mean it could not happen. I have seen jacks with the characters reversed...such as C7 and 7E. I have seen 427 fan blades which have the "66" on them with only one "6" present. As a judge, I would not deduct for a jack with only one of the date characters present if I thought it was an orginal jack and correct for the car.

Re: 67 jack dating
I sent Al a PM on this but guess I should post here. I measured the characters on my original B7 jack with my calipers and the letter for the month is about 1/5 of an inch. The number for the year appears to be about 15,000th larger. My other three jacks look to be the same. Maybe someone else has info.Avatar--My first ever vette, owned 3X since 1977, restored 1993-2024. Top Flight Award 9/14/24- Top

Re: 67 jack dating
I think the first three months of dating used the order of M/Y. I think beginning in April, that reversed to Y/M. I have pictures (some multiples) of real jacks in my files for A7, B7, C7, 7D, 7E, 7J, 8B, 8D. Anyone seen anything different?Avatar--My first ever vette, owned 3X since 1977, restored 1993-2024.
