    Holley List 2818 baseplate screws -- 6 or 8?

Seeing Lawrence Shaw's post earlier today reminded me of this question I wanted to put to you carb experts.

Thumbnail below of a spare original List 2818_3A3 (for '64-5 L76, or '65 L79); baseplate has 8 holes that have corresponding threading in the main carb body. As you can see, only 6 screws are present -- I have no idea if I replaced them in the original positions. Current configuration shows two empty holes are in the fore/aft centerline. Is this correct ?

Checked a service List 3124 (for a 396) I have and it has screws in all 8 baseplate holes.

The photo in L.S.'s thread shows 2 holes without screws (like mine), but in the inboard/outboard holes, and his was built by someone who knows carbs.

    Most only have 6.

      Wayne -

I have a number of images of the bottom of 2818's, 3810's, 3367's, and a few others, and all of them are configured with the outboard baseplate screws not installed (one on each side, like the thumbnail in your post).
