    1967 door panels

So I installed one of my door panels today and it is not the original set. The gap around the edges are about 1/4 to 1/2" away from the door assembly. My friend has a 63 and I saw his had screws all the way around the 67 ones have 5 clips and the clips dont allow the panel to sit flush against the door is this correct? Is there anyway to get it sitting tighter?

John, It can take a lot of hours and patients to fit the repop door panel like the original. I have NEVER been able to just install a repop out of the box without "making it fit". None of the shaping ever seem to be there, they are just "flat boards". Take your time and be sure to have plenty of beer on hand. I just spent 3 days making door panels on a 62 fit right. Even reshaping the metal tops and then reglue the vinyl back was necessary. Good news was they went thru judging no problem.
