'67 Dark Saddle leather seat covers

I would very much appreciate it if anyone who has original '67 dark saddle leather seat covers would post pictures of them. My early production '67 convertible has the dark saddle interior with leather seat covers. I recently purchased new seat covers and the color of the leather is a solid brown. My exisiting seat covers are replacements for the originals which I installed when I last recovered the seats in 1978. The color of the leather of my existing covers is not solid but a dark saddle with a mottled/blotchy appearance. I have asked around and received conflicting opinions on what the correct dark saddle '67 leather seat cover color looked like. Some say a solid color others confirm the mottled/blotchy appearance.
Photos and input on my question will be most appreciated.
    Thanks

    Neal

        Neal,
I recently had the same problem looking for door panels for my 1970 LT-1 with the rare brown vinyl interior. The rest of my car's interior is original and the vinyl has a distinct appearance similar to what you describe for your 1967, with lighter base coloration and a darker sort of splotchy mottling. The correct term to describe the mottled or antiqued appearance is 'marbled'. I searched high and low for a correct marbled door panel set and was not able to find NOS, used, or repro from any of the suppliers. To my knowledge, no one is reproducing marbled brown interior pieces, vinyl or leather. The closest match I could find was a solid dark brown from Al Knoch.

          Michael,
Thanks for sharing your experience. For now I am most interested in finding out what the factory original color of the '67 dark saddle leather seat covers were. Once I verify the correct color then I will work on finding a source for the material.
Hopefully someone will read this thread who has some original, or early reproduction, '67 dark saddle leather seat covers and will post pictures and/or provide a good description.
          Thanks again
          Neal

            Neal...

I think I may have what you're looking for...

I have a pair of '67 headrests seats that are supposed to be real/original saddle leather material...

I will respond when I get back home and snap a couple of pics for you...

              Rick,
I am anxious to receive your pictures and description of your dark saddle leather seat covers.
Dale Robertson from Al Knoch Interiors sent me a purported original dark saddle leather seat cover to look at. It arrived today and appears to me to be very close in color and appearance to the reproduction leather seat covers I purchased from Al Knoch in the late '70's. Your pictures will be invaluable in helping me to determine what I think the original leather color most likely looked like.
              Thanks again
              Neal

                  Rick,
I just sent you a PM.
Thank you very much for taking the time to get your seat out and send the photos. How would you describe the coloration of the leather?
What is the color of the seatback? Looks to be different than what I would expect on a dark saddle seat.
                  Thanks again.
