    C2 Firestone Tires 7.75 x 15, 7/8 in WSW

Question, Since I'm a 63 guy a little help please.

On Firestone 7.75 x 15 WSW tires, what style/model/design was used on C2's? Also was the WSW 7/8 inch or 1 inch.

    Thanks...

Per 1967 Judging Manual, they are Firestone Deluxe Champion. The white wall is 5/8 inch wide.

The 1965 Judging Manual also shows Firestone Deluxe Champion, but with a 1 inch white wall.

For '65, you may find the width was closer to 7/8" than the 1" quoted in the '65 TIM&JG. I remember scaling the width shown in this pic (the '65 Shriner St.Louis delivery) with the known diameter of the wheelcover. Can't remember what I calculated but it was less than 1".

          Hi Harry,
I checked the whitewall width on a original 7/75/15 Firestone Deluxe Champion spare form my 1965 and it's in the 7/8 to 15/16 range. Love those pictures Wayne.

              Ken:

I quoted what the latest 1967 Judging Manual stated. However, some very early info I have from Sam Foltz (one of our NCRS Founding Fathers) indicates this original whitewall is actually 1/2 inch wide. Your data supports this. Thanks for the info.

Maybe the 1967 JM will revisit and revise this number in the next edition.
