68 Headrests

Seeing the recent article on the 68 435 Yenko corvette in the Restorer, I am always puzzeled why the buyer didn't go for the $42.00 option to add the headrests. My 68, also didn't have the headrest option. Was it the money or another reason that I haven't thought of?

In 1968 $42.00 was equivalent to about $275 today. Would you pay $275 extra for headrests in a car today if you had the option not to?
