Does anyone know of a late production 71 corvette being equipped with 72 T3 headlights? Thanks

Re: 71 T3 Headlights
Well OK, if you insist. It is just that a lot of us voluntarily worked very hard to put together this manual, and I(we) hate to see questions that are answered in the book posted on here. Spend the bucks and you will learn a lot more than you ever expected. BTW: As you will see for other posts on here the book is not always 100% correct, but we try.
Part of Page 39:
"Late 1971s (May and June build) have been seen with 1972 style Guide T3s."
Congratulations if this is the car you posted the other thread about headlight bezels, you now have the challenge of finding some of the most expensive headlights around. Good luck.Terry- Top

Re: 71 T3 Headlights
Thank you Terry and all your colleagues who are a great assistance to the hobby and preservation efforts. I did buy the TIM/JG last night as I am familiar with this helpful reference and appreciate your help. I am trying to prepare my car for Hemming's New England Concours later this month and noticed I had a low beam out. I have owned every generation Corvette including 71 Lt-1 and 71 LS-5 over the years. (L-T1 among favorite.) I had been into my 66 L79 but sold it few years back and really missed not owning one. This 71 is a automatic base engine coupe with some nice options. I bought it for its low miles and originality and therefore am trying to accelerate my learning curve. Thankfully the NCRS is there with helpful members like you. My car was built on May 5th and I will source the 72 bulb as mine has 3 72 T3s ans 1 71 T 3 high beam. That is the way it will stay! Again, many thanks for the information and help.- Top

Re: 71 T3 Headlights
Is the odd T3 the one that has burned out? The high beams are more plentiful and less expensive than the low beams for obvious reasons. Quite some time ago the print for the PRODUCTION headlamps, including the date codes stamped on the back in orange, were posted here. I regret now that I didn't copy and save them in my files. At the time my thinking was that we couldn't judge the dates so why retain the information. Oh well, I don't always do the right thing.
I posted that T3 date chart a few years ago for the first time to the public. It was part of the T3 blueprint provided to me from the GM supplier.
If someone else does not have it handy I will look for it and repost in the future. I have several boxes of original used T3's sqirreled away from years ago but they are in storage.
Seth send me a PM and I will look to see if I have an extra you can use for your event.

Re: 71 T3 Headlights
This one is not the one I was thinking of. The one I remember had details of the orange stamp on the back and the instructions to date the bulb on the back. NOS or over the counter lamps do not have that orange stamp and date code. Only PRODUCTION lamps have it. Joe, I think it is up to you or someone with good search skills and time to do it.Terry- Top

Re: 71 T3 Headlights
I have that one too, but it's much larger - lemme see if it'll post.
OK, it posted, but the robot reduced it from 282K to 72K.
