1961 hardtop side brackets, window dating

Is it possible to correctly attach (rivet) the side brackets without removing the entire outside stainless trim? If s.s. pop rivets are used, how much of a deduction could I anticipate at judging?

I have a simiar question as some previous posters about the dating on my hardtop. All three windows have 1 1 6 (one, space, one, space, six) - does this translate to November 1960? If that is the case, I read in Noland Adams book that the two screws were added to the molding reveal cap (bottom rear window) on AIM 1-11-61. Does this suggest a dealer retrofit of a non-original top?

    Thanks.

Remove the old rivits and any junk in the holes, use short pop rivits and it can be done without removing the stainless side trim.
I can't answer your other concerns.
