How to adjust the convertible top on my 62.

When putting the top down manually it hits the door latch. Is there a write up anywhere??

Where can I get a copy of 53-61 ST-12 (instructions for adjusting convertible top)?

Go to top of page, click on NCRS Shop. $25.00

Dave, does it hit the door latch, the soft top compartment lid latch or the latch on the center seat divider?

        David,

If by door latches you mean the deck compartment cover, you have the top adjusted too far to the rear of the car. You need to readjust the top so that it is able to fold without interference. The adjustment is outlined in the ST-12.

It hits the door latch. Also the right front latch does not have any tension to hold latch. I have the ST-12 and not much help. Dave

            David,

Maybe if you post a photo of your issue it will be easier to understand your problem.

David, if the latch has no tension check that the small spring on the latch is not missing or damaged. If your top is hitting the latch hardware on the door or door jamb the top frmae would have to be bent drastically and/or only one side mounted behind the door jamb and likely could not touch the windshield fram to be latched. Like dennis said if you have a picture it will help. A picture of the latch that hits the top annd a picture of the top frame.

              Thanks!

              Steve

Are we talking about the front header bow on the soft top frame hitting the male latch pin on the convertible top cover door when lowering the top?
