    67 hood stuck

I know I have seen a thread on how to get a hood open when the latching system doesn't work properly, but after 1/2 hour of searching, I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, are there instructions on how to use the search function? I am obviously doing something wrong.

if its a matter of the hood release cable not engaging, you need to get under the car (jackstands or lift) and using a broom stick or something similar, gently move the lever on the side of the catch mechanism attached to the firewall forward until the hood on that side pops open. Move to the other side and repeat. Hopefully its just that one of the little brass keepers has come undone and you can resecure.

You'll probably have to remove the lower inner splash shields to gain access to the latches.

With a little wiggling and jiggling, I got it open. You bet I'm gonna fix it before I close it again. The latches are soaking in solvent as we speak. Now I'm off to find out how to fix this and fix it right. (luckily for me, only one side was stuck). The latching mechanism looks like it's working OK, but there are some burrs on the male part of the latches that may be causing some problems. They are also quite dirty.
