Disclaimer - I do not work for 3M or know anyone that does. Have you considered Perfect-It?

I have used the Perfect-It product line on two laquer panted cars with excellent results. 3M has videos and procures online to describe use of products. Match product with correct proceedure and pad. Available in quarts and gallons from online body shop supply houses. Get pleanty of microfiber towels also.

I should have mentioned the Lacquer Paint on this car is only about aq little over 2 years old, after paint it was covered and stayed in a heated garage since. I will not be looking to restore the paint - just preserve it. I also intend to put it on by hand rather then use a polisher. I will try the 3M web site. Thanks

Moving it up top, still hoping to hear from some one who uses the product or from someone who does paint. Thanks

If you are hand applying then ingore my earlier comments, I use machine. Depending on how it was sanded / buffed out after being shot, in my opinion there is nothing like a wheel in a skilled hand to bring out the beauty of lacquer and remove those 600 / 1200 / 3000 grit scratches.

Great stuff. Worked beautifully to hand-polish my fresh lacquer job. Removed 2000 grit scratches easily. (Again, this paint, PPG DDL, was only 3 months old, so still pretty soft.)
