    Clutch pedal adjustment and pad

Is there a way to adjust the clutch pedal lower? Just the pedal not the clutch release point. I have long legs, I guess and my leg bumps into the steering wheel
when I put me foot on the pedal. Then I just 'ride' the pedal for other shifts.

Also, I have a 67 converible (manual) and I have seen pedal pads with chrome. Mine and most repo's I've seen are plain pad, no chrome.

    What should I have?
    Thanks.

The only way to adjust the pedal position would be to make modifications to the linkage(shorter/longer). Something that I would not recommend If done, it should be done by a professional. Improper installation could cause a accident.

      I found this:
But I'm not sure from the AIM how you would rotate the rod.

There are 2 things to be done:
      1. "Rotate"
      the linkage rod.
      2. Relocate from the upper to the lower bolt hole on the
      pedal bracket.

I'm not 100% sure how they
want you to "rotate" the rod. I take it to mean that you rotate it 180 degrees
so that the apex of the angle in the rod faces up, rather than down, as in the
      normal setting.

      Is this right?

I also reason that if free play is
adjusted to 3/4" in normal action, then it will be adjusted to less than that,
perhaps 1/2", when in fast action.

Brad,If the car is like your 67 then there are 2 nuts that are at the Z bar on the top that can move the pedal BUT, your distance down will be restricted because the clutch needs to release. The rubber pedal bumper when up will still do it's job as there will be more space between it and the pedal. My guess is about 1/2 in if you do it right.DOM

Brad look in the shop manual it shows how to change the clutch pedal to the short throw position to about the half way mark from where it is now, this will also increase the force needed to push the clutch to the floor , also your original stock shifter can be put into a short throw position. The "quick-release" (lower pedal) clutch adjustment feature was only provided on midyears from '63-'66; that pushrod pin bracket was welded to the pedal on 67's.
