This is the ultimate L88 video, back in 1988. Wonder if they ever made CD's of this VHS, in more recent times ? As I recall, when the announcer gave the signal for them to start their engines, the sound was underwhelming.

P.S. Yours truly is in that picture -- somewhere .

Very ugly, short, fat boy standing with the white vert.

got this video today. I have been going to Carlisle for 20 years and this is the first time I saw a real 67 L88 run

Pretty weak example-sounds like it has carb issues and needs a lifter adjustment. Notice he can hardley get it to move. They sounded a LOT stronger back in the day.

I have been lucky enough to drive 4 or 5 L88's and they didn't sound like that?? Sounds like its running on 6 cylinders to me.

that sounds bad, cylinders not all firing....my L-88 (over counter motor) I had years ago in 67 sounded strong and hit hard on all 8 cylinders, fouled plugs on this one maybe???-still a real L-88 is hard to beat and running bad can be fixed

Gorgeous Corvette and absolutely loved seeing it in person, ......... but must say it sounds like a car that is started once a year to be pulled into a trailer, and then one second time per year to go back into the trailer for the ride home.

Once again, I loved seeing something the owner courteously shared with us admirers. Ridge
