    Tri-power 3659 Metering Plates

    Hi Guy's,

Hoping someone can help me. I've just had the car on a chassis dyno and found that I have a major issue with the A/F ratio once the secondary carbs kick in (far too rich).

I'm toying with the idea of replacing the metering plates with units from Quick Fuel that allow regular Holley jets to be used.

Has anyone been down this path and how did it turn out?

    Thanks
    Matt

i tied these plates years ago from a different company and you had to watch the floats did not get hung up on the jets. i used them on the secondary side of a 4160 holley 4 barrel. did you check to make sure the plates on your carbs have not be modified or changed out for the incorrect ones??

Thanks for the info Clem. I'm guessing they have being drilled out, because they are the original -3 plates.
But I haven't had them off yet, I got caught with the clutch head screws.

      Thanks
      Matt

you need a 5/32" clutch head screwdriver. 34R5113-3 plate should have a .076 jet hole and .035 idle feed hole

            Matt,

These metering plates bend very easily so check for flatness and don't use gaskets that are thick. I think the Holley gaskets are thin. The Holley book should have a crossover from the stamped number in the plate to the actual main/ idle feed hole diameter if you decide to lean mixture.

Clem is probably right that someone has enlarged the holes as I don't think you can go wrong with the factory size parts.
