1991 Corvette ZR1

The CD player in my 1991 Corvette ZR1 makes a clicking noise when loading a cd and does not load the cd. Is this a malfunction or is this a result of the built in security system since the battery was replaced just before my purchase? Will entering the security code fix this problem? Also the brake lights are not working...common cause for malfunction...?

I have replaced the battery in my 96 LT4 and several times disconnected the negative battery cable if the 96 is not going to be used. The battery replacement and disconnection of the negative battery cable has not affected the use of my 96's CD player. Don't know if your ZR1's radio system is different from what was used in my later model 96.

I'd say your unit has failed and it should be removed and sent in. We do nearly every C4 that comes in any more. Pretty common.

I've removed my negative cable a bunch of times and never had this problem. Remove it and have it repaired. Should be about $75.00.

Remove the unit and send in to Dr. Don's in Texas. He's good and very reasonable.
