C-1 Voltage Regulators

Have two NOS Delco Remy voltage regulators - stamped 1119002E 4B; and 1119002C 9B.

NCRS Judging Guide indicates that the 1119002E is correct for the 1962 Corvette. Date code 4B would suggest February 1964 or later year, and if so, it could be an over-the-counter replacement unit. Would this assumption be correct?

Any ideas as to what vehicle the 1119002C regulator would have been for? Could date code 9B be February 1959 or 1969 or some other year ending in "9"?

Any thoughts on this regulators would be appreciated.

Larry - According to John Pirkle Jr's presentation at a Regional 10 years ago, the 9002 seires VR defines a 35 amp regulator. The C series was introduced in the 1958 model year; the D series in1960; and the E series in 1962. I would guess that your 002E would be judged as a service replacement but how harsh, I don't know.

The 002C VR may have been used on the 1958 290 hp. Lower hp engines used a series 9001 (30 amp).

Thanks for the good information. So, it seems that the 1119002C 9B could be used on a 1959 Corvette produced in or after February 1959 with a 35 amp generator.
