    63 Headlight Switch

What does one look for when trying to find a real 63 head light switch for a 17,000 serial number car? Thanks

Look for an NOS corvair or full size as they are the same.

The GM part number is 1995095 and the "095" is stamped on the switch.
I think you will find it is unique to a 63 Corvette
The "096" Chevy passenger car switch is sold as a replacement but the original 63 Corvette switch is an 095.

If you want to send me an email, I'll email you some photos of a '095' switch. For some reason, I can't upload photos onto this forum any more.

I guess I was just thinking on getting the lights to work as I had a big problem with the china replacement switch. Dr Bob are the 095's able to be rebuilt? That is what failed on my car last month. The china one's circuit breaker would shut my head lights off after about 3 minutes of use and just blink them on and off (mostly off) Other than the number stamped on it, is there any other problem with the 096?

            Bob,

Thanks I have an 095 for the car but somewhere I got the idea the original to the car were consturcted of a brown insted of black plastic. What do you think? If you or anyone you know has an NOS 095 I might be a player as I really don't like the condition of mine. Thanks again.

Jorjorian, It is quite common to see the '096's for sale on Ebay, etc as being correct for 63 when we know that they are just one more incorrect 63 part.
NOS '095 switches are very hard to find.
So what is the end result when one uses a '096 switch in a 63. Any issues in doing so? Thanks, JD
