I have been looking for a suitable original replacement spare tub and lid for some time now but have not found any. As most folks on here I'd like to find original parts. A friend of mine pointed me to Sermersheim fiberglass. I'd like to know if this or any other maker out there provides these tubs that look original and pass/show well under NCRS judging. thanks Blake

Re: '65 Spare tire tub replacement
Thanks guys for the link and info. I have been watching this particular Ebay auction for a while now, this is at least the 3rd relisting of it that I'm aware of. Appreciate James for pointing out the missing lip. For that kind of money really don't want to have to fix anything. Any thoughts on the repro one as asked in the original post? I don't have a huge problem going that direction providing the glass work looks right and it fits! I realize that this particular part is or was broken on a huge number of cars over the years so finding that NOS original probably isn't going to happen.- Top

They would be my first choice for a replacement tub for my 1967 car.

EDIT: I would also call Scott Sinclair. Scott rebuilds these tubs, and may have a nice, repaired original for sale. Scott did the repairs to my original 1967 tub and did an excellent job.- Top

Re: '65 Spare tire tub replacement
Contact NCRS member Scott Sinclair. He restores original tubs. I traded my damaged tub + $ to him in exchange for a restored unit. You will know exactly what you are getting from Scott. His address is: scott1956@rogers.com- Top
