Stamped Or Embossed Logo On 1963 Core Support?

A friend asked me this question. He has a core support for one of his 63's that has a logo on it.

He asked me to check my 63 to see if I had it, and I cannot find anything. The logo on his core support is located on the passenger (RT) side, on the outward facing surface.

I do not know what that logo is, however.

Without knowing what it is, could it be a reference to the current reproducer.......

Chuck, I looked all over the coupe today, no sign of a logo where you said to look.

I'm going to see him this coming week, and will ask him what logo he sees on his radiator core support.

I should have gotten that critical piece of information when I talked to him.

                Again, nothing on mine either.

                  Chuck,

Could he be referring to the circular 'waffle-iron' stamping? My ('67) radiator support has several of those, including one on the forward-facing upper RH (passenger) side.

                    Not sure, Scott.

I'll do my best to try to catch up with him tomorrow and clarify things.

Well, I don't have a picture, but I clarified things.

The logo is an "L" logo, AND it's on the engine side of the radiator core support, passenger side, UNDER the voltage regulator.

Now, I have to admit that I haven't taken my voltage regulator off to check mine yet...................

                      So, sorry for any confusion.

                        Chuck,

There is an "L" stamping on the underside of this midyear front end header bar, I'm not sure of the specific model year. If the radiator support has the same simple "L" stamping like the picture below, it may be that the same company that produced the header bars also produced the radiator supports, at least at one point in time.

That "L" logo looks a lot like the one in the picture he showed me. His pic was not that good, as he didn't use the MACRO setting on the camera.

                            Chuck,

Here are pics of an early 63 radiator support. Support is stamped of both left and right side in same location. Logo looks like MTD. My original April 63 has no such stamping. It does have the cutout and mounting holes for the trans cooler and lines even though it's a manual trans car.

                            Thanks
