    Power steering ram/cylinder restoration

    Hey guys,
Our power steering ram is leaking and I wanted to know if anyone can recommend a place that can rebuild it. The part is original to the car so I would like to have it repaired.

    Thanks for the help.

Either Lone Star Caliper or Stainless Steel Brakes. They both do it.

I installed a new seal in my 70's cylinder over 20 years ago and still have no leakage. Was not a difficult repair/replacement. New seal came from GM.

The cylinder can be resealed if the chrome shaft doesn't have a groove worn in it at approx six inches from the shaft end. If it has a wear ring, then it will need to be sent in for rebuild.

ZIP CORVETTE has an excellent step by step tech article on their web site. Makes it an easy do-it-yourself project.
