58 - 60 Judging Sheets in Excel format

I created an automated model of the 58-60 scoring sheets for my own use in self evaluating my car. I got tired of printing hard copies, making pencil entries and erasing and manually tabulating. I think the model is pretty neat. You can only make entries in the appropriate boxes, the individual sheets are tabulated and all the tabulations ripple through to the scoring summary. I have even automated the tabulation of driving credits.

I am happy to share it with anyone who is in the process of getting a 58-60 ready for judging and if you are doing a self evaluation. However, I don't know if the powers that be in the NCRS Judging areas would have a problem with what I have done. I don't see any copyright marks on the score sheets. I sent an email to the team lead, but didn't get a response. And I know these guys are very busy, so I don't want to bug them.

Are there any team leaders out there that monitor this forum that could tell me if it is OK to share this, or keep it to my self?

Yes I know I must have to much time on my hands, but in retirement I need things to keep me both physically and mentally active.

    Thanks,

    Don Harris

    Don,
Sounds cool...If appoved I would like to see it. Wonder if there would a demand for an iPad/iPhone/Android app to do the same? I've been trying come-up with ideas for an app I could write that doesn't exist, this might be something. It would be free of course...Perhaps something that would pull the data from a database on the web so it could be updated easily updated.

      Don,
I'm interested. I just installed the correct engine in my car and some of our fellow chapter members mock judged it. I know they missed stuuf, but it was pretty good. I want to go throught the car and make notes and then have it judged before I start the body off. This will be a better way of keeping tack of things versus the scribble you get on your sheets. emai is pat.heimrath@rogers.com
      Thanks

I gave up on getting a response on the forum and sent an email request to Roy Signor last Sunday to see if he has any issue with me sharing this file.

          Don,

That's a great idea that you have! I would love to get the electronic file from you. Please post the results of your discussion with Roy.

          Thanks,

Whoops! I guess someone called Roy about this, and he is on vacation and out of the country. I will get in contact with him when he is back from vacation.

I don't want to create any issues with anyone.

Don, no issue here, this could be a great tool for the entire organization, we just need to discuss a few things before we release something like this so that we know where it is going and how it can be used. In truth if we do it I feel we should do it for all score sheets not just 58-60. With new score sheets on the horizon for some groups we need to be sure we expend the energy in the proper direction. Ingrid Klestadt worked on a similar project years ago about the time she had it up and functioning we changed the score sheets, unintentionally on our part but simply a fact of the advancement in our system. We do have some score sheet changes looming with the new manuals we are working on.

Did you set them up so they auto-tabulate, sum etc? if so, super cool. big time saver.

Yes, the sheets each tabulate and the summary sheet is totaled.

I hope Roy can enjoy the rest of his vacation without being bothered by this topic again. I'll check back with him when he's back. If we find what I have done useful, then I would be glad to do other score sheets. The difficult part was getting the formulas to work correctly. Setting up the rest of the sheets is just tedium

                    Don,

Nice of you to create the 58-60 Judging Scoresheets in a spreadsheet. Am sure they'll be useful to lot of NCRS members.

Eventually, electronic Judging Scoresheets will be put to use by Chapters.

Particularly, as hand held tablets become more popular and useful. One of their big obstacles to overcome is av viewable screen in sunlight.

Integration into the NCRS on-line Judging system will not be a small task.

Keep up the good thoughts and work. Regards,

                    Gary

Ipad, would be a great addition to be able to make notes, check the boxes, auto resize the text so you can make complete descriptions and not run out of room. We may need to bring an printer/PC to get a hard copy. I see a lot of potential here and some concern for the finger pokers on a keyboard.
Seems a lot of regionals are going inside.
                      Great idea.
