How do you get the steering wheel from the hub. It seems to be rivited on. This is a 1959 corvette. Thanks Patrick McPherson(55168)

Yes, the original steering wheels is riveted to the ball/hub assembly. To separate you can drill out the rivets. Suppliers such a as Paragon and Corvette Central sell a set of counter sunk head bolts to replace the rivetsDonDon Harris

Patrick, I recently drilled out the rivets on a C1 steering wheel. Make sure that you use a 3/16" drill bit as that is the diameter of the rivets. The countersunk bolts did not seat flush with the top of the steering wheel like the original rivets did so I had to ream out the holes with a countersink bit so that the top of the bolts are flush with the steering wheel like they were originally.- Top
