Fan shroud - year??

Can anyone tell me what year Corvette this fan shroud belongs to? It has a GM part # 979937 sticker. thanks, Mike

Part number was changed to 14016177 on 9/81, 1.277 group, but that part does not show up in the '85 price guide., but 379937 is/was the fan shroud for 1976 Corvette, secon design.

#379937 is second design 1976 as well as all 1977-78, 1979-80 with L48, and 1980 with the 305. At some point it was replaced by a second design 1980 shroud, #14028585, which went on to be the service shroud for just about everything from late 1976 through 1982, with the exception of 1979-90 L82. This info is in parts books from the late '70's through the early '80's.

GM #379937 was the original fan shroud used for L1976 Corvettes as well as L-48 1977 through E1979 Corvettes. It was replaced for SERVICE in September, 1981 by the GM #14016177. The latter was the original shroud used for L1979 through E1980 Corvettes with L-48 or LG4. The 14016177 was discontinued sometime in late 1982 or early 1983 and replaced by the GM #14028585. The latter was the shroud originally used for L1980 Corvettes with L-48 or LG4 and also all 1981-82 Corvettes. GM #14028585 is still available from GM to this very day
