If that was the case, then the engine would also have to be a COPO assembly, as the engine included the clutch, which would have needed a fine-spline disc.
The listing on the Proteam site indicates this car comes with its original engine with an LO suffix. So if this is the real McCoy, then the engine should have had a 10 spline clutch. There are a couple of interesting engine codes listed for 1969. MS for a COPO application and MR for another L88. Does anyone know anything about these?

Correction. I just realized that the "original L88" block that comes with this car is listed as having a partial VIN of 19S721306. This doesn't match the car's VIN of 194679S721688.

Well, it seems old, heavily modified race cars are still popular for some. But $400,000.00 was not enough to buy it.

If only it hadn't been the worlds only documented COPO maybe it would have met reserve.

I understood that early 63s had BW T10 transmissions and they were followed by Muncies sometime in May of 1963.

I agree that it did not need to be a special optioned car to be a COPO car.
Harry - was your car a St. Louis plant delivery?

Here's another '69 L88, VIN 22417, with 4.56's; order submitted about a week after the (claimed) COPO car. This thumbnail is a photocopy off the original tank sticker; too bad so much of the center was damaged/missing. No COPO designation in the upper right box. Interesting to compare the RPO codes with the Proteam sticker pic.

Big pic below is of this car at Bloomington Earthquake '88.

A '68 L88 black 'vert just went for $575K, so I guess this COPO thing is just not worth that much....
