All functions of my 84's digital dash seem to be working except the speedometer. I have removed the PM generator at the transmission and tested it for voltage output. It passed the test, but I am not getting and speed reading on my digital dash. I understand these units can be sent off for repair. I have also noticed there is a replacement dash panel you can order which has the old style round instruments like the older cars. I think this cost about $700. Has anyone installed this system? Instead of paying $300 etc. to repair my old digital unit I might want to consider this new system. All comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 84 Digital Dash
Thomas you have tested the PM generator and tested it, so you may like to order the book written by Gordon Killebrew that is sold through the NCRS store concerning your digital dash on how to repair it. One good thing is the digital dash is not real complicated to remove from your Corvette. Gordon also has a pay for 1-800 number that you can talk to him about how to fix your problem. The 1-800 service will be discontinued in the future. Gordon worked on problems with the C4's at the factory's Action Center and retired from GM. Once upon a time a C4 owner could call the factory in Bowling Green and ask questions about their C4's, I believe Gordon also was one of the persons that did this.Last edited by Jim T.; August 6, 2012, 07:39 AM.- Top

Re: 84 Digital Dash
Tom, If your digital dash is lighting up, I would be looking else where the dashboard issues I have seen lose there ability to light up. The signal from the magnetic senor in your transmisson is okay but what about the wiring from sensor to the ECM?New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
