If I had a really big cliff I probably would have pushed this thing down it at least a dozen times. I can't get cylinder number six to run. The reason I say "get it to run" is because no matter what i do, it misses on that cylinder. It gets fire, I put all new fuel injectors in it, new mass air flow sensor, throttle positiion sensor, plugs, GM plug wires, computer, battery tested good BOTH times that i took it to be tested and the same for the altenator. I also replaced the distributor cap, ignition module, etc.
When I crank it and let it idle you can hear the miss but it doesn't sound terrible. Sometimes when you rev it up it backfires through the aircleaner. The timing hasn't ever been touched and the timing light shows it to be dead on. I have checked to make sure that the plug wires aren't crossed (at least 1/2 dozen times) and they aren't. It doesn't smoke or burn any oil. However, the first owner removed the front cats. and I gutted the second because the internals were rattling. The car ran just fine without the cats before all of this mess started. I have checked for vacuum leaks with no success.
This was the first Corvette that I owned back in high school. I bought it back and everything has been fine up until the last couple of months when it started acting up. So, does anyone have any input other than for me bring it to your house and push it down your hill?
