I found this in my passenger side jack storage compartment (1966 June built L36). Before I replace it with a "caplug" (and paint the storage area to match the interior), is there any good reason for this to be where it is? I can only think it's an expedient replacement of some sort. Maybe the previous owner had something in mind, but I can't figure out what that might be. Thanks for any insight you might offer.

Re: Valve Stem to Nowhere
When we bought our 63 SWC in 1981, it had a similar valve stem in the storage compartment. We believed it was the remnants of an air shock arrangement. We glassed over the hole and have never seen anything like it since until you posted your pics. Not quite the same but it brought back memories. Remember, "Bubba" worked on a lot of these cars!!!- Top

Looking at this arrangement how would one plumb the airshock tubing into this valve stem set up ? I put my fitting in the rear exhaust valence... Out of sight.. My fitting has a tee connection...this is something to ponder...what were they thinkin ....
