The layers of my fiberboard door for the jack compartment are separating where the screw goes in in a couple of areas. I'd like to reuse the door since it has all of the original labels on it. I was thinking of putting some wood glue in the separations and clamping it to get it flat again. Any thoughts?

Re: Fiber board Jack Door Repair
Hi Glen,
I did something similar but used Elmer's glue.
It seems a little thinner than the wood glue and I was hoping it would penetrate the layers a bit better.

Re: Fiber board Jack Door Repair
Hi Glen,
Well that's good news.
If a person looks carefully in the area of the door that's been routed out to receive the hinge it can be seen that the material used in the reproduction is different than that of the originals.
So it's nice you could save yours. And, saving the labels is a real bonus!!
