Is there a way to find out if there were any cars built on 21 Jan. 1966, and if so what is the range of VIN's?

The answer would be yes there were Corvettes built in St Louis 1/21/1966 in fact approximately 111 of them. But I must ask why would you be interested in the serial number range? There are all kinds of avenues where you can find what you are looking for all are based on extrapolation of the known build practices and may or may not be 100% accurate. If you have a car you think was built on that day, the NCRS shipping data Report available through the historic document services link on this web site will confirm the build date.

If you go to the C2 Corvette registry (http://www.c2registry.org) you can go thru a trial and error process using the birthday calculator to get an estimate of the cars built on Jan 21, 1966, which was a Friday. The VIN range for that date turns out to be from 11623 to 11729, so 107 cars built that day.

Keep in mind that the calculators are built on lots of statistics and assumptions and a limited amount of real data. The S/N range you've quoted might be off by 100 or more in either direction.

Absolutely. In the case of my '66 the birthday calculator was ,until recently, off by one day in estimating when my car was "born".

Again this is an estimate, actual production records differ, as the shipping data records confirm cars before and after these VIN numbers as 1/21/1966 production.

Thank you for all the information. It may sound silly, but that is my birthday also. I was curious, as I see cars being sold and when they have the VIN listed, I wonder if it is meant to be that I get a car built the same day of my birth.

Funny, I am sure others were really wondering what was up, we see people looking for specific pad pics, etc. On the BD and car, not until I ran the PCM tester did I realize a vehicle I currently own was made on my BD.

Todd, you can also get a idea from Noland Adams book. In the back of the book he has VIN'S listed with some months and days.

I have always admired the 66 corvette even as a kid. It wan not until recently I thought how cool it would be to own a 66 born the same day as me. I checked out my birth date and was pleased to see it was not on the weekend; I don't know if the plant worked 5, 6, or even seven days a week. They may have even been working at 0615pm.

I just lucked out on my 63 Fuelie and had no clue on its assembly day until I bought the NCRS Shipping Report like Roy said. It was made on my 13 th birthday, October 16. Meant to have that car.

Boy, I now really wish they made Corvettes in 1950, but since they didn't. I'm out of luck here.....
